To mark Global Entrepreneurship Week and celebrate the success of entrepreneurs with disabilities across Canada, the Canadian Accessibility Network (CAN), in collaboration with the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program (EDP) Leaders in Canada, invites you to attend a panel discussion that will provide insights into self-employment as an accessible path for persons with disabilities. 

 

There are many reasons why individuals with disabilities choose self-employment, including an opportunity to have the flexibility to create their own work hours, follow their passion, provide a service or product that benefits the public, and take control of their own destiny.  Our discussion will feature speakers as they  focus on their lived experience as Canadian entrepreneurs. They will also share information about available programs offering support to entrepreneurs with disabilities and systemic barriers that prevent more people with disabilities from pursuing self-employment.

 

Following the panel discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the speakers during a Q&A period.

Who can attend?

CAN Connect Forums are open to everyone, including individuals within and outside of the Network. CAN Members are highly encouraged to attend to learn about the great work happening within CAN Collaborator Organizations and connect with others interested in advancing accessibility for persons with disabilities.

 

When will the CAN Connect Forums take place?

CAN Connect Forums will take place every 1-3 months on Tuesdays between 12 and 3 p.m. EST. They typically last one hour. All CAN Connect Forums will be hosted on Zoom.

 

Is there a cost to attend?

No. CAN Connect Forums are free to attend! Please register in advance.

If you are a CAN Member (a part of a CAN Collaborator Organization or an individual associated with CAN) who would be interested in presenting or participating as a moderator at a CAN Connect Forum, please email [email protected]. We also welcome your ideas on topics for future CAN Connect Forums.
